  1. JCW life begins from a living room in London

    2007

    Just 3 years after graduating, Jamie Woods founded JCW as a specialist governance recruitment business and life started from Jamie’s living room in London in April 2007.

  2. First office and first hires

    2008

    After a year as a 1-man business, JCW made its first hires in 2008 and subsequently moved into its first office in Clerkenwell (via a brief stint sharing an office opposite Harrods). 6 months later, with 4 staff in total after the opening of the first office, Lehman Brothers went bust and The Great Financial Crisis began.

  3. Economic decline, business growth

    2009

    Despite economies continuing to decline, JCW continued to grow throughout 2009 with headcount and revenues increasing with demand for Risk, Regulatory and Audit professionals remaining strong.

  4. Headcount hits 10

    2010

    A key milestone of 10 employees was hit in early 2010 as the business came out of recession with a strong platform for growth.

  5. Team hits twenty

    2011

    JCW doubles headcount in the space of 12 months with the team becoming 20 people strong in 2011.

  6. International expansion

    2012

    Now 30 people, the business receives its first accolades with the ‘Young Gun’ and Fast Growth Biz Award. 2012 also saw the first international office with the launch of an office in New York and a second brand, Catalyst Life Sciences, launched to provide recruitment across life sciences globally.

  7. JCW Group hits 50 people

    2015

    With two office (London and New York) and two brand (JCW and Catalyst Life Sciences) JCW Group continues to grow and hits 50 people in 2015.

  8. Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For 4th Place

    2017

    JCW Group enters the Sunday Times Best Companies list for the first time and ranks as the 4th best company to work for in the UK. The business also receives 3* Best Companies accreditation for ‘extraordinary’ levels of workplace engagement.

  9. More locations (LA & Frankfurt) added

    2018

    Growth continues at pace with the launch of a new JCW office in Frankfurt, Germany. Cybernetic Search (Los Angeles) and Outscout (Austin, Texas) become the latest businesses within the JCW Group focusing on tech and executive search respectively. 2018 also saw JCW named in the Inc. 5000 for the first time – a list of the fastest-growing privately-held companies in the USA.

  10. JCW becomes 100 people

    2019

    JCW Group reaches 100 people across 5 offices. The business is also recognised by Inc. 5000 for the second year in a row - a list of the fastest growing firms in the USA.

  11. Named fastest growing hiring firm in USA

    2020

    A year of achievements with the business receiving Investors in People Gold accreditation, featuring once again in the Inc 5,000 and being named as the #1 fastest growing staffing firm in the USA by Staffing Industry Analysts. 2020 also saw the launch of two new brands within the JCW Group – Xander, a Training and Deployment Consultancy, and Guideline, a Regulatory Consulting and Staff Augmentation business.
